Esophyx

A very new procedure for reflux is just now being introduced.  It is similar to the Nissan fundoplication, but is done without incisions.  An upper endoscopy is performed and a device is placed over the endoscope.  This device is used to gather the stomach tissues and staple them in place around the end of the esophagus.  Like the Nissan fundoplication, this creates a high pressure zone at the end of the esophagus which helps to prevent acid from spilling into the esophagus.  The procedure, called Esophyx, is fairly new, but showing good results.
